LCI Progress Page

The City of Snellville is proud to be a participant in the Atlanta Regional Commission's (ARC) Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) program. ARC created the LCI program in 2000 in order to assist communities like Snellville in creating and implementing innovative plans for the improvement of their town centers, activity centers, and corridors. Snellville completed its LCI study in 2003 and is currently involved in a $2.8 million implementation project that includes the installation of street furniture, decorative lights, and street trees along Wisteria Drive, Oak Road, and Clower Street, as well as transporation improvements in that area. The ARC is funding $2.2 million of this project through a LCI Implementation Grant.
The purpose of this page is to keep our citizens and others interested in the LCI project up-to-date on the progress, to notify the public of project meetings and important events, etc. Please return to this page often, as we will update it throughout the project.
For more information or to join the e-mail distribution list for this project, please contact Planning & Development Director Jessica Roth at 770-985-3509 or jroth@snellville.org.

The City is currently involved in the design phase of the LCI implementation project and has retained the services of MACTEC and jon benson + associates for this work. The design work began in spring 2006, with the necessary survey work completed in April. The City held the first public input meeting on May 18 and received valuable feedback from local residents and business owners. The consultants are currently working on the concept plan for the project, which will be presented to the public on Wednesday, June 28 at 6:30 pm at City Hall. Please join us at that time to see the future of your Town Center District!
