The Recylcing Center is now open at 2531 Marigold Road, behind the Elizabeth Williams Library, please come and visit. Make sure to take special notice to our office which is made entirely from recycled or renewable source materials. Our spacious facility is incredible! We have also added a Partnership Board for any business interested in becoming a partner please contact Greg Rucker at the Recycle Center @ 770-985-3539.
General Information
Please contact the Public Works Department regarding your curbside recycling at (770) 985-3527. Commercial recycling is also available for all businesses. If you have any questions concerning the City of Snellville Recycling Center please call (770) 985-3539. The Public Works office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday and the Recycling Center is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday - Saturday.
Curbside Recycling
Recyclables are picked up once a week from the curb by a second truck on your designated household garbage pick up day.
There are only 6 specified items that can be picked up curbside.
- * Glass bottles and jars (clear, green and brown glass)
- *#1 and #2 plastic bottles and jugs
- Aluminum cans
- Ferrous metal (tin, steel) food and beverage cans
- Magazines (must be kept dry)
- Newspapers (must be kept dry)
*Please remember to remove all lids and tops from the plastic and glass containers.
Put extra recyclables in a paper bag or an additional container clearly marked as "recycling materials". Place them next to your recycling bin, but away from your garbage cart.
The "State of the Art" City of Snellville Recycling Center
Our drop-off recycling center is located at 2531 Marigold Road, off Lenora Church Road in Briscoe Park. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday - Saturday. Everyone is welcome to use the recycling containers. There are restrictions for the yard debris and miscellaneous junk containers only. The junk container is for use by City of Snellville residents to assist them with cleaning up their residences. It is not for use in assistance with remodeling jobs, construction, or add ons.

Residential Junk

Services limited to City Residents only.
Valid GA drivers license with current city address required.
One visit or trip to the recycling center with one pick up truckload per day of junk at no cost. A truck and trailer is considered two loads.
You may now place junk items out at your curb on garbage day! Save yourself time by purchasing the official city blue bags for bulky junk items. Three bags attached to each bulky item (sofa, mattress etc.) or fill one bag with small items for easy pick up. Ask the recycling attendants or call Public Works for more details 770-985-3527.
To comply with State regulations, recycling attendants must check all bagged/boxed junk to ensure no contaminants are present.
All recyclable items must be separated and placed in the proper containers and not in junk container.

Yard Trimmings
One trip or visit to the recycling center with one pick up truckload per day of yard debris at no cost. A truck and trailer is considered two loads. One load will be accepted at no cost and an additional load accepted, per day, at $15.00. Please bring your own rakes, shovels & brooms. We do not provide these items.

Curbside Yard Trimmings
We encourage you to compost your yard trimmings in your back yard whenever feasible. A "Special Yard Waste Bag" is also available at the same locations as the "Special Garbage Bags". Each yard waste bag has printed instructions for your convenience. Residents must call the phone number on the bag for collection. The yard waste bag is a 30-gallon paper bag designed specifically for yard debris. When you purchase the bag the cost of curbside collection will be included. No additional bills will be sent out. Yard waste such as grass clippings, leaves, small branches and shrubbery clippings must be placed inside the "Special Yard Waste Bag" to insure collection. Larger limbs and branches must be bundled in 4 ft. lengths and be no larger than 6 inches in diameter and weigh less than 50 lbs. per bundle, these must have a "Special Yard Waste Bag" attached to insure collection.
Wood Chipper
The wood chipper is available for limbs and shrub clippings over 5 feet in length and between 4 and 8 inches thick. The job will be assessed first before the woodchiper is set up. The pile has to be at the curb and all branches turned the same way. Call the Public Works Department at (770) 985-3527 for pricing and to make arrangements.
Firewood The recycling center has firewood available, for sale, to the public for as long as it lasts! Call the office for pricing.
