SNELLVILLE (September 18, 2023) —The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners, in partnership with the Gwinnett County Public Library Board of Trustees and the City of Snellville, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the Elizabeth H. Williams Branch of the Gwinnett County Public Library and the City of Snellville Business Center today.
“We are so excited for what this new branch will bring to our city,” said Barbara Bender, Mayor of Snellville. “Having a space to connect with the broader Snellville community and foster learning and collaboration is of utmost importance, so it was a priority for us to include a space fit for this in The Grove at Towne Center Development.”
The new branch is located at the heart of the Grove at Towne Center development in Snellville, Georgia, a highly anticipated urban hub boasting a unique, walkable downtown experience. The state-of-the-art Gwinnett Library building contains two floors, the first a traditional county public library, with the second housing THRIVE | Coworking, an Atlanta-based hybrid workspace slated for official opening later this year.

The Elizabeth H. Williams Branch boasts approximately 24,000 square feet of space, which is twice the size of the previous branch. The library features a meeting room with a capacity for 120, collaboration room with seating up to ten, two learning labs with sound attenuation, 20 computer stations, three group study rooms, 128 parking deck spaces, Amazon lockers and 39 hours per week of Open Access time outside regular branch hours.
