Minimum Starting Salary:  $42,084.00

Duties  

This is highly skilled administrative work responsible for performing moderate to difficult accounting and administrative work in maintaining the city’s property tax records and processing property tax payments. Also performs other general office duties that include assisting the general public, answering the telephone, covering for the Receptionist and other general business office procedures. The employee must be able to work well independently, with co-workers, and with the public.  Work is performed under the general supervision of the City Clerk.

Minimum Requirements

A High School diploma, state-issued GED, or equivalent is required. Two-year work experience in customer service (by phone or in person), billing, or general clerical duties in an office environment is required. Written and/or spoken fluency in a foreign language (particularly Spanish) is desirable. Possession of a valid Georgia Driver's License and acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR). Ability to obtain and maintain a Notary Public commission.

Examination 

Will consist of an evaluation of prior education and work experience, panel interviews, criminal history check, and financial history check. Applicant must take and pass a post-offer drug-screening test.

DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS

Starting Salary Range: $80,686.00 - $93,571.00

DUTIES:
This is highly responsible managerial, administrative and technical work involved in planning and directing public works activities in the areas of construction, stormwater activities and reporting, maintenance and cleaning of street, sidewalks and drainage; sanitation and recycling services; the maintenance and repair of cemetery and city buildings and grounds; and vehicle maintenance. Work involves the responsibility for long range and current planning, oversight for survey, design and inspection of all streets, parks and cemetery projects, and of all contract-engineering projects. Requires the employee exercise independent judgment and discretion on all technical matters within the department subject to guidelines set by the Mayor and Council. Employee reports to the City Manager for review of work and evaluation of performance.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent.  Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).  Ability to drive and operate the department’s assigned vehicles and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.  Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 100 lbs.) and to bend, squat, twist, crawl and/or climb on a daily basis.

DESIREABLE REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in engineering, public administration, management or a closely related field; and thorough experience in progressively responsible managerial positions in public works or a related field. Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.

PART-TIME SEASONAL CAMP DIRECTOR – PARKS & RECREATION

 

Starting Salary:   $18 - $20.00 Hour (based on qualifications)

DUTIES:
This is responsible and professional seasonal part-time work in assisting Park staff, specifically Program Coordinator in planning, organizing and supervising the Youth Summer Camp.  Direction is provided by the Program Coordinator or Camp Supervisor. Incumbent must exercise personal judgment and discretion in supervising activities based on established policies, procedures and schedules.  Incumbent will work Monday - Friday, varying shifts totaling between 25 – 29 hours per week during summer season (May – August).


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent.  Prefer at least two (2) years’ experience in performing duties related to day camp setting or educational, recreational programming. Any equivalent combination of training, education and/or experience may be acceptable.  Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license (Class C) at time of employment.  Red Cross certifications in First Aid and CPR prior to first day of work is required.

Counselor is responsible for supervising and leading a group of children during a summer camp program, ensuring their safety, facilitating engaging activities, providing positive guidance, and creating a fun and supportive environment while adhering to camp rules and emergency procedures. Incumbent will work Monday - Friday, varying shifts totaling approximately 25 hours per week during summer season (May – August) for 10 weeks.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

DUTIES:    This is responsible and professional work in assisting Park staff in general duties.  Applicant will be involved with league scorekeeping, planning, organizing and supervising a wide variety of recreational, athletic programming and special events.  Direction is provided by the Director of Recreation and Parks and/or Facility Coordinator.  Incumbent must exercise personal judgment and discretion in general office duties and supervising activities based on established policies, procedures and schedules. Incumbent will be working a variety of days/shifts with majority being during the evening and weekend. 


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  High School diploma or equivalent.  Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Physical Education or related field preferred; or partial completion of major course work; or a combination of training, education and/or experience in Parks & Recreation and/or athletic profession.  Must be 17 years of age or older.

DUTIES:

This is general law enforcement work responsible for protecting life and property and enforcing laws and ordinances.  Work involves routine patrol in assigned area, responding to emergency calls, alarms and citizen complaints.  Duties include traffic enforcement, assignments, preliminary investigations and other related work.  An officer of higher ranks reviews work assignments.  Work requires independent judgment and discretion in difficult or unusual situations.  Work involves an element of personal danger.  Work is performed under the general supervision of a police Corporal.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older,
  • High School diploma or equivalent, and
  • Possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Advanced Degree (Associate’s Degree or higher)

The application process will consist of an application review, oral interview, a comprehensive background investigation to include an evaluation of prior education and work experience, a criminal history review and a credit history review.  Candidates who successfully complete the background investigation may be given a conditional job offer.  A final offer of employment would then be dependent upon the candidate’s successful completion of pre-employment testing which includes a physical assessment, drug screen, polygraph and psychological exam.
